Swagelok Needle Valve with Rupture Disc, 1/4 in. Male NPT-to-Female NPT, 2850 psig Burst Disk, 316L Stainless Steel, PN: SS-16DKM4-F4-2

Swagelok SS-16DKM4-F4-2, Needle Valve with Rupture Disc, 1/4 in. Male NPT-to-Female NPT, 2850 psig Burst Disk, 316L Stainless Steel

This Swagelok® Integral-Bonnet, Nonrotating-Stem Needle Valve with integrated Rupture Disc has a 1/4" male NPT inlet and 1/4" Female NPT outlet and is rated for 2850 psig (+/- 150 psig at 22°C / 72°F).

The valve has a soft-seat stem and PCTFE stem tip which limits its' maximum working temperature to 93°C (200°F). The valve has a maximum flow coefficient of 0.09Cv and can withstand pressures significantly higher than the rupture disc (up to 6000 psig at 37°C / 100°F).

This straight pattern valve/rupture disc combination, made of 316L stainless steel is compact and convenient for sample cylinder use and anywhere where space is at a premium.

The rupture disc can be replaced easily without removing the valve or tee from the system. Rupture disc replacements are available with a nominal burst pressure of either 1900 or 2850 psig.

Caution: Compressed gas cylinders must be equipped with pressure relief devices in accordance with CGA S-1.1, the definitive standard for the selection of the correct pressure relief device required to meet the requirements of the U.S. DOT in 49 CFR for over 150 gases.

  • Be sure to use the correct pressure-relief device for the gas being used.
  • Proper filling of cylinders according to DOT specifications, or other local regulations, is critical in preventing overpressurization.
