This Swagelok® 1/4 in, 3-way Tee union connects three 1/4" OD tubes and is made of Monel® Alloy 400/R-405. Unions include nuts and ferrule sets. Nut threads are silver plated to prevent galling and seizing of the fitting when tightened. Monel is a nickel alloy composed primarily of nickel and coppper with small amounts of iron, manganese, carbon and silicon. It has high strength at elevated temperatures (up to 1000 degrees C) and is stronger than pure nickel. Monel is highly rust and corrosion resistant to salts and acids. R-405 includes a small amount of sulpher which aids in it being machined. Monel is a registered trademark of Special Metals Corporation. Tee Unions are used when three same-size bare tubing ends need to be joined. Unions are made with the nuts facing each other.
