This Swagelok® VCR® Unplated Nonretained Gasket is made of Copper. Swagelok Part Number: CU-8-VCR-2.

These VCR (Vacuum Coupling Radiation) fittings and components are precision manufactured and offer a leak-tight, metal on metal seal. They can be used for any fluid flow application and provide leak-tight service from vacuum to positive pressure.

Polished surface finish and high purity materials virtually eliminate these fittings as a source of system contamination. The VCR fitting design has been tested to maximum leak rate of 4x10-9 std cm3/s with silver-plated-copper gaskets, and to a maximum leak rate of 4x10-11 std cm3/s with unplated (Ni, Cu or 316L SS) gaskets.
