Edwards XDS35i E Enhanced Oil-Free Dry Scroll Vacuum Pump With Gas Ballast. PN: A73003983

Edwards XDS35i E Enhanced Oil-Free Dry Scroll Vacuum Pump With Gas Ballast. PN: A73003983 100-230 VAC 1 phase (With Gas Ballast)

The XDS35iE Enhanced is being introduced to be sold alongside the existing XDS35i family of pumps. The Enhanced pump features patented double start and by pass valve technology to enable it to address applications beyond the operating envelope of the standard XDS35i pump (such as pumping down large chambers). This will open up more opportunities for our customers to benefit from XDS Scroll pump technology.

For a quick history lesson, the XDS35i was launched in 2002 and continues to be very successful with over 20,000 pumps produced. The pump is well suited to many applications but evacuation of large chambers and regular cyclic duties have been beyond its typical operating envelope. We are delighted to say that the Enhanced pumps address this opportunity and will be offered in Standard, No Gas Ballast and Chemical versions to complement the current XDS35i family. The Enhanced pump versions (XDS35iE and XDS35iCE) are equipped with patented technology which prevents over-compression within the scroll mechanism at high operational pressure and large throughput applications. Twin by-pass valves release sufficiently compressed gas directly to the pump exhaust, increasing pump efficiency, lowering power consumption and enhancing pumping speed.

Valve operation occurs at inlet pressures greater than 300mbar meaning the pump is tailored towards applications which dwell at higher pressure. The elimination of over-compression at high operational pressure, reduces power consumption and diminishes bearing loads, extending bearing life. Consequently, the E enhanced versions are capable of operation without limitations to the both the size of vacuum chamber, or the frequency of pump-down on cyclic duties.

There is one note we want to bring to your attention. The pump modifications within the E Enhanced version have a small adverse effect on the ultimate vacuum achieved, however the pump has a larger tolerance to operating altitude and ambient temperature. There are details of this within the attached data sheet .pdf to the side of Downloads. Service Intervals are going to be very low, similar to the existing scroll pumps range.
