This Edwards TAV6 venting valve can be installed in any nEXT85D, 240D, 300D, 400D, 730D, 930D, or 1230H series turbo pump. This valve operates at 24 VDC, and comes with a 3 meter long power cable with unterminated (bare wire) end, and has a BSP 1/8" fitting for connection into the pump's vent port. This valve can be powered by the pump's accessory port (nEXT85D, nEXT730D, nEXT930D, or nEXT1230H) or the 3 pin Phoenix connector socket on nEXT240D, nEXT300D, or nEXT400D pumps (the mating phoenix plug is supplied with the pump). This valve can also be directly wired to a TIC Controller, or a separate 24 VDC power supply. For use with a nEXT85D, nEXT730D, nEXT930D, or nEXT1230H turbo pump, the accessory extension cable is required (part number P1012520), which has an accessory connector on one end and is unterminated on the other. This normally open valve can be used as a power failure venting valve. When a power failure occurs, this valve closes and vents the pump and the forevacuum line and thus keeps oil vapor from diffusing back from the forevacuum line.

TAV6 vent valves have an 1.0 mm diameter orifice and are suitable for venting vacuum systems large than 5 liters. For smaller volume vacuum systems of <5 liters, use the TAV5 venting valve with an orifice of 0.5 mm (part number P105358). The TAV6 vent valve can replace the manual vent valve that is furnished with the turbo pump, or be fitted into any other suitable port on the vacuum system upstream of the turbomolecular pump. This valve is supplied with a 3 meter long unterminated cable, a sintered bronze inlet-filter, a riffled hose connector for attaching to a dry nitrogen supply, and a DN10NW adapter for optional direct connection to the vacuum system.
